Message from the Director: The staff HAS developed plans to bring more students back on campus by the end of 3rd quarter. You will be updated once they are finalized and the Governing Board approves. Our COVID Response Team also met to assess the campus in regards to bringing more students back to campus. Heather Nakakura- Director (nakakura@whea.net)
SBAC TESTING (SMARTER BALANCE STATE TESTING)
During the 2020-2021 school year, all WHEA students in grades 6–8 and 11 will take the Smarter Balanced English Language Arts (ELA)/Literacy and Mathematics Assessments. All students in grade 8 will take the Hawai’i State Science (NGSS) Assessments. Your child will take the assessments on different days during the school year. We will inform you of the specific dates before your child takes each assessment. Click here for more info.
SIBLING APPLICATIONS
Sibling applications for next school year (21-22), are available for pick-up in the front office, they must be turned in by February 26, 2021. First Lottery drawing will take place March 1st, 2021.
*Note, General admission applications are live on our WHEA Website (whea.net) as of February 1st.
MIDDLE SCHOOL AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
We will be offering after school activities for WHEA Middle School Students. These are all non graded activities. Just a way to get your student meeting other fellow classmates, find a new hobby and even getting credit for PE Logs.

LEARNING HUB FOR VULNERABLE STUDENTS
If you have concerns regarding your child’s academic progress, emotional well being or having internet connection problems, you may want to consider the Learning Hub which meets on campus Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30am to noon.

YOUTH CONSERVATION CORPS SUMMER 2021
Kupu is seeking individuals to participate in their upcoming Hawai‘i Youth Conservation Corps. If you or someone you know, is passionate about learning how to improve and preserve Hawai‘i’s natural resources and cultural landscape and want to make a difference to the community, then consider applying to our upcoming summer cohort.
